2 cups of warm water (110 degree)
2/3 cup of white sugar
1.5 TBSP active dry yeast
1.5 tsp salt
1/4 cup vegetable oil
6 cups of bread flour
Directions:
- In a large bowl dissolve the sugar in the warm water and then stir in yeast. Allow to proof until yeast resembles a creamy foam.
- Mix salt and oil into the yeast mixture. Mix in the flour one cup at a time. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface or in mixing bowl until smooth.
- Place into a well oiled bowl and then place dough into it. ****I place the metal mixing bowl into the crockpot and place the cover on the crockpot to allow to rise**** Allow to rise until the dough is doubled in bulk about 1 hour.
- Punch dough down, knead for 5 minutes.
- Divide in half
- Shape into loaves and place into 2 well oiled 9x5 loaf pans.
- Allow to rise for 30 mins or until dough has risen 1 inch above the pan (***I use the crockpot for this***)
- Preheat oven at 350 degrees
- Bake loaves at 350 degrees for 30 mins
